Happy Thanksgiving!

A short but big update     LEO GAINED WEIGHT! We went to check weight on the 24th and Leo had gained 10oz (in 15 days). Praise. Jesus. He has not gained weight like that since August ish, I think. Now, this does not solve all of our problems or answer all of our questions. The medical people are still recommending a feeding tube. Brad and I have a lot of information to process, questions to ask, and all the stuff. We got the surgical consultation scheduled at CHOP so we are still going to that on Wednesday. We also have a GI doctor appointment on Thursday with a different doctor to get another opinion and ask some more questions (feels like we know more of what we want to ask this time than our first GI appointment). Hopefully Brad and I will be confident and on the same page after those appointments.      Please pray for wisdom and guidance moving forward. I know we have been back and forth with all of this feeding tube stuff but we know that God is in control and we are praying tha

Still Waiting . . . on the Lord

This isn't really an update on new medical information. It's just kind of where we're at and what we need prayer for. I can't say it enough, thanks for caring about what's up with us.     We have been referred to CHOP as well as Hershey for the feeding tube--which would be a consultation and then the surgery. We are sort of playing it out to see where we can get in first, but it has not been a quick process at either place. Initially we were pursuing the feeding tube with more urgency but that has diminished a bit. We are hesitant because we still have questions, Leo's taking his bottles better and eating some solids (oatmeal and puree), and we'd like to see another GI doctor (which we also have the referral for so it's in the works). Basically, we are moving forward with it because he is so far behind in weight; however, we are not pushing the timeline to move quickly and we are trying what we can.      Initially when we were told he needed a feedin

Waiting!

Today was a good day. But I'm a little over this stage of appointments. He gets bed-head just like Brad!     We heard back from the GI doctor and she put in the referral for a surgical consultation to move forward with the tube. We have yet to hear back from the referral and I am trying to get the number so that I can call them. Leo and I are going to the pediatrician tomorrow. We will discuss all of this with him. I am anxious to do that because he knows Leo the best as far as our doctors go. We are also hoping that he might refer us for a consultation closer than CHOP as travelling does not go well with Leo right now. The GI doctor said that she thinks Leo should get a tube within the next month. That gives us an idea of how urgent they think it is.      Another thing on our minds is that Leo had 3 more big spit ups since the GI appointment. He hasn't been having those at all so it was weird. But we have been talking and researching as to why those are happening. At appo
